What's with the name?

"the linkedin linguist" refers to my exploration of ways in which sociolinguistics can be applied or linked to real-world scenarios and careers. It also recalls my research into LinkedIn, one example of how parts of our real (or virtual) world can be analyzed in valuable ways thanks to the linguist's toolkit.
